Culpeper Amateur Radio Association (CARA) provides many opportunities to help people learn about Amateur Radio and grow the community, and can even help you obtain your amateur radio license.
CARA currently offers limited amateur radio licensing training and a full range of testing for Technician, General and Extra class licenses. The exam session will be held in the 3rd floor meeting room of the St Stephen’s Episcopal Church annex building. There is no available parking in the church driveway. Please park in the municipal parking lot at the NW corner of East Davis and Commerce St. The annex building is on the North side of the lot. Walk up the outside stairs or use the elevator inside the Food Closet entrance on the ground level if needed. If possible, register for licensing exams by the Thursday before the the scheduled exam. You can save a few minutes of your time on exam day by registering for the exam session on HamStudy.org (with your FRN) ahead of time.

If your goal is to take the next step after becoming licensed, you may want to learn or brush up on morse code, you can find many sites to help. Look at Morse Code World, Long Island CW Club (LICW), and Learn CW Online (LCWO). There are also many apps for both Android and Apple mobile devices to help you practice.
